Orphan Elodie is forced to take her stepsister Nina's place as a sacrificial bride for the last dragon on Deep-Sea Dragon Isle, where she discovers every bride before her has died. After a failed escape attempt, she's brought back and ends up saving an injured man named Karen — only to realize she's somehow immune to dragon fire. A jealous witch named Selene manipulates Elodie's concern for her brother to create distrust between her and the dragon. When Elodie returns home, she witnesses her stepmother's cruelty and plan to use her as a pawn, while Selene fabricates a betrayal to provoke Karen's rage, sending the dragon to seek vengeance on the mortal world. Karen eventually meets Elodie's brother, learns the truth, and brings the siblings back to Dragon Isle, where Selene's plot to conspire with the royal court against the island is exposed. Elodie unlocks a power capable of breaking curses and defeats Selene, halting the invading army. Karen breaks free of his own curse and regains human form, while Elodie cuts ties with her family, protects her brother, and chooses to remain on Dragon Isle with Karen — ending three centuries of solitude for them both.
