Betsy, claiming to be Nake Rose's fiancée, snatches the necklace and presents a black card she had given Nake. Gwen suspects her son of infidelity. Their disagreement escalates, and Betsy breaks the jewelry, then calls Nake to support her. Upon seeing his mother, Nake becomes deathly pale.
